Preserving History - One bike at a time....

About Me:

I've been called many things in life - ambitious, intelligent, gifted have never been among them..

Lazy, good for nothing waster have been used more than once.

But that's OK - I never really did care much about what other people thought of me.

I got my first bike for Christmas in 1972 - I was 10 years old. My mum and dad got a little Gemini 50 SST. It was a great bike - I loved it. In fact I still have the imprint of that bikes exhaust burned/scared into the back of my left leg. That scar has been with me now for over 50 years.

I rode that little Gemini to death, it was such great fun. But on reflection, I was much more likely to kill myself than kill the little Gemini :)I remember racing around on that little thing - one day I was Roger De Coster, the World Motocross Champion, next day I was Mick Andrews the World Trials Champion. Yet another day I was flat on the tank, full throttle, going for the speed record. Ahhhh - what happened to the magic of youth?

There are such wonderful memories of that little Gemini, and the Yamaha YZ80B that followed. In fact I think I am going to add a Blog to this site so I can recount the memories. You might like to read them to perhaps rekindle memories of your youth, but really, they are not written for your enjoyment, they are written as a way of me reliving, or at least remembering those halcyon days of youth.
